Fermented foods are excellent for gut health. They act as a natural probiotic and are an essential addition to a healthy pantry.
INGREDIENTS
• 2 Cups Sliced Purple Cabbage
• 1 tbsp Rock Salt or Sea Salt
• 1 Sterilized Mason Jar
METHOD
• Take the cabbage in a clean and dry glass bowl and add the salt to it.
• Now massage the cabbage well, with your fingers for 8-10 min, until the cabbage is wilted.
• Continue to do this until water is released.
• Place this into the mason jar and pressing it down so that the water covers the cabbage.
• Cover it and leave it out to ferment for 2-10 days, stirring it every 24 hours.
• You can store it in the fridge, once fermented, for up to 6 months.
