How to Make Asian Savory Crepes | Easy Homemade Crepes Recipe

These crepes are also called Vietnamese crepes or Banh Xeo.

With the basic batter, you can make many variations and include a variety of fillings.

โ€ข 1 cup Rice Flour

โ€ข 1 tbsp Corn Starch

โ€ข 2 tbsp Whole Wheat Flour (optional)

โ€ข Salt to taste

โ€ข 1/8 tsp Turmeric Powder

โ€ข 1 cup Coconut Milk

โ€ข 3/4-1 cup Water


๐—œ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐˜€ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—™๐—ถ๐—น๐—น๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด

โ€ข 1/4 cup Tofu finely cubed

โ€ข 1/4 cup Sprouts ( alfalfa/ bean/ green gram)

โ€ข 1/2 cup Thinly Sliced Veggies like Bell Peppers, Carrots, Onions, Spring Onions, Cucumber, Roasted Mushrooms

โ€ข 1/2 cup Iceberg Lettuce

โ€ข 2 tbsp each Coriander and Mint


๐—œ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐˜€ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ฆ๐—ฎ๐˜‚๐—ฐ๐—ฒ

โ€ข 3 tbsp Light Soy Sauce

โ€ข 1 tbsp Vinegar

โ€ข 1 tbsp Brown Sugar/Raw Sugar/Cane Sugar

โ€ข 1 tbsp Sriracha Sauce or Red Chilli Sauce

โ€ข 1/2 tbsp Peanut Butter


๐— ๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ฑ

โ€ข Mix the ingredients for the batter into a very thin pouring consistency.

โ€ข Keep it aside for at least 30 min.

โ€ข Whisk well the ingredients of the sauce.

โ€ข Mix the tofu and sprouts and keep them aside.

โ€ข Add a tbsp of the dressing to the mixed veggies.

โ€ข In a non-stick pan, sprinkle the tofu sprout mixture all around and cook for 30 sec.

โ€ข Then pour the batter with a small cup, taking care not to overlap. Fill the gaps as well.

โ€ข Cover with lid and let it cook for 2-3 min.

โ€ข Once brown spots start appearing at the bottom, place the lettuce and herbs on one half of the crepe.

โ€ข Then add the veggies over the greens.

โ€ข Now lift the other half of the crepe and cover the filling.

โ€ข Serve it with the sauce and the lettuce and remaining veggies like a salad.
